August 09 Vacations & The Importance Of Laziness - every now & then, that is! :PIt's been a while since I've had a blog, but whatever. I don't know how often I'll be online to update this thing, but I'll come when I can.
Today at 3 pm I started my latest vacation. I'm not going anywhere "vacationy," but I'm having a week off nonetheless. It's important, methinks, for refreshing & for keeping one sane. I've been looking forward to this for months - literally! Originally I was planning on going to Manitoba, leaving this past Wednesday, but it didn't work out financially. So I knocked 3 days off my holiday. That's fine. I'm still taking a good week & two weekends off, & I plan on making the most of it.
Monday I have a doctor's appointment & will be doing some job hunting, but otherwise I'm just going to take time to enjoy myself. I haven't had a week of self-indulgence in ages! This is mainly due to the fact that I haven't had the finances for such for a while, but I've come to realise that money's not required for enjoying myself nor for having a great vacation. Financially this'll be a tough time, but my health and sanity are very important to me. So I plan on being off & having a very lazy time of it! I think we all need that every now & then. After all, God did rest on the seventh day after creating the earth, & He told us to take every seventh day to rest as well. So that's my justification!
Since it's been a "little while"
 since I've had a holiday, this is really important to me. Used to be I'd take a week or two at least every six months, but now things have changed, & I've come to realise just how much those times off really & truly meant to me.Anyway! I think I've sputtered on here enough for now. Time to go & start making the most of my time off. Blessings all!  |
